PUM 2021 (Innovation fair for ITI Students and Pass-Outs):

PUM (workplace for Mizo Traditional Blacksmith) is funded under Skill Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE) project, organized by LESDE Dept. on 24th to 26th March, 2021 at Govt. ITI Campus, Aizawl. 23 projects were showcased in the event, top 3 winners were selected to receive prizes, and special award category was awarded for Best ITI Students and People’s Choice Award. Top 10 winners from different project were awarded with endorsement offers from big companies within and outside the State.

STATE LEVEL SKILLS COMPETITION-2021:

Held for the first time in Mizoram, funded under National Skills Development Council (NSDC) the nodal agency for skill and entrepreneurship development, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, organised by LESDE Department, Govt. of Mizoram on 30th – 31st

March, 2021 at Govt. ITI Campus, Aizawl. Fifty (50) participants competed in 11 different trades. Out of which 15 winners and runner’s ups were selected to compete for Regional Skills Competition.

REGIONAL LEVEL SKILLS COMPETITION-2021(PATNA):

All the 15 winners and runner ups from the State Level Skills Competition were selected to compete for Regional Skill Competition, held at Patna, Bihar from 20th to 23rd October, 2021. Mizoram dominated the India Skills 2021 North East Region competition by winning 3 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, 3 walkovers were given to 3 Mizo competitors in 3 trades. These 12 Mizo youths represented North East India in National Level Skills Competition to be held in Delhi.

NATIONAL LEVEL SKILLS COMPETION-2022 (NEW DELHI):

All winners from 56 different trades from Regional Level Skills Competition competed in the India Skills National Competition. For the first time, Mizoram participated in this National event with a contingent of 13 participants under 10 trades. Mizoram bagged two Medals, a Gold Medal won by Vanlalbiakdiki in Shoe Making Trade and  a Bronze Medal won by Maximus Lalruatkima in Floristry Trade. The achievement they received open doors for them to showcase their talent/ Skills to the world to  represent India at World Skills Competition to be held in Shanghai, China in October 2022

KAWTCHHUAH-2022:

KAWTCHHUAH – 2022 organised under STRIVE Scheme is a startup booster package for ITI pass-out. The word ‘KAWTCHHUAH’ in the MIZO language refers to the place in a typical village where people gather (like a village square) before disbursing to their respective places of works. So, the name KAWTCHHUAH is envisioned as the beginning of a working life for the ITI pass-out. The main objectives of the fair are as below:- 

  1. To help aspiring entrepreneurs amongst ITI trainees and pass out students to achieve their dream of independent startup.
  2. To improve the enrollment of ITI in Mizoram by promoting incentivizes innovative and determined trainees.


21 selected participants were awarded Rs.50,000 each in cash in order to support their startup initiative in different selected trades.
