The Department of Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (LESDE) implemented 3 broad Vocational Training Scheme in the Skill Development sector namely, Craftsman Training Scheme, PMKVY and Apprenticeship Training Scheme. Apart from these training courses, the department organised events to create awareness for Skill Development within the State. 

 

 

PUM: Innovation Fair: 

 

An annual event, called ‘PUM: Innovative Fair’ funded under STRIVE Scheme was successfully held for the first time on the 24th  to 26th  of March, 2021 at Govt. I.T.I Complex, Aizawl, Mizoram. The event consisted of Workshop and Innovation Fair, wherein I.T.I and erstwhile students engaged in workshops with Master Trainers well versed in different fields. A lively interaction was held during the session. As for the Innovation Fair programme, the main event commenced on the 2nd and 3rd day, wherein competitions were held among participants registered from all I.T.I trades. 23 projects were showcased in the event. The overall event was a success as the winners were awarded with endorsement offers from big companies outside the state. 

The following participants were declared winners in the PUM Innovation Fair:- 

● Pu Dengrikhuma was conferred with 1st prize receiving Rs. 1 lakh, Trophy and a citation for Guitar Making. 

● Pi Gospel Lalfakzuali was awarded 2nd prize receiving Rs. 50,000, trophy and a citation for cake baking. 

● Pi Zochansangi was handed 3rd prize receiving Rs. 30,000, trophy and a citation for food processing. 


Additionally, separate award was given for current ITI Students, and People’s Choice Award was arranged wherein the winner was chosen on the basis of audience polls collected on the spot. Following are the winners of the two award categories: 

Deborah Lalnunsiami was awarded the best ITI student for cake baking and was conferred with cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-, a memento and a citation. 

Johny Lalsangzuala was accorded with People’s Choice award for his solar hybrid water distillation entry and was conferred with cash prize of Rs. 30,000/-, a citation and a trophy.


IndiaSkills  Competition (STATE LEVEL ) : 2021

 

It was held for the first time in Mizoram, funded under National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India. It was organised by Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (LESDE) Department, Government of Mizoram on 30th - 31st March, 2021 at Govt. ITI Campus, Aizawl. 50 participants were competed in 11 different trades out of which 15 winners and runner’s up were awarded Rs.20,000/- and Rs.10,000/- respectively and were selected to compete for Regional Skills Competition as below:-

IndiaSkills  Competition (REGIONAL LEVEL ): 2021

 

 

It was funded under National Skills Development Council (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India and was organised by NSDC & Sector Skill Council (SSC), Govt. of India on 20th - 23rd October, 2021 at Patna, Bihar.
For the first time15 participants were competed in 11 different trades out of which 12 winners and runner ups were selected to compete for National Competition to represent North-East Zone in New Delhi. The following list enumerates the list of winners in the Regional Skill Competition who will then represent India post their selection at the national level:-

IndiaSkills  Competition (National level) : 2021

 

 

It was organized by NSDC & SSC, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India on 6th - 10th January, 2022 at New Delhi.13 participants were competed in 10 different trades from Mizoram who were funded under Socio Economic Development Policy (SEDP), Government of Mizoram. 

 

  • In this competition, Miss Vanlalbiakdiki won Gold Medal  in Shoe Making  with cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and Mr. Maximus Lalruatkima won Bronze medal in Floristry trade with prize of Rs. 50,000/-. 

 

  • The two medal winners are undergoing training in boot camp at Mumbai to represent India in ‘World Skill Competition’ in Shanghai, China on October 2022.
