Aizawl, the 26th April 2023 : The Indian Army has transformed the procedure for recruitment of Agniveers, Junior Commissioned Officers and other categories with the introduction of a Computer Based Online Common Entrance Exam as the first step.

The online exam was conducted in the North East Zone at 26 Centres across 14 cities in all the Northeastern Region from 17 Apr 2023 to 26 Apr 2023 for youth of NE States with assistance from Education Consultancy Services India Limited, a Mini Ratna Company under the Ministry of Education. The 14 cities are Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur in Assam, Imphal, Ukhrul and Churachandpur in Manipur, Shillong in Meghalaya, Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland, Agartala in Tripura and Aizawl in Mizoram.

A large number of youths of Mizoram state attended the subject exam at ION Digital Zone Maulpui, Aizawl to join the Indian Army as AGNIVEER with zeal and enthusiasm.

From recruiting year 2023 onward, the recruitment will be carried out in three stages. In stage one, all candidates will undergo the Online CEE (Common Entrance Exam). In stage two, the shortlisted candidates will be called for recruitment rally at a place selected by the concerned Army Recruiting Office for Physical Fitness Test and Physical Measurement Test (For Mizoram State Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mualpui, Aizawl). Finally, in stage three the selected candidates will undergo a Medical Test. Thereafter, the final merit list of the successful candidates will be declared.

The modified recruitment system will make the recruitment process more streamlined, transparent and is designed to optimally exploit the latest IT infrastructure available in the nation.
